See the Teacher play
Kids’ brains absorb new information like a Sponge. The most effective way for them to learn something new is through imitation and direct experience.
It is very fundamental to play musical snippets during class. When children see their teacher play the piano directly in front of them, this speeds up their learning progress in an impressive way. Seeing a pianist play through a computer screen does not have the same effect.
My young students are excited to go on with the following levels of progression all by themselves. I demonstrate how more complex pieces sound, and I connect music with movement and a story. Once they get interested, their natural curiosity fuels them to propel forward!
