Academic studies – Master classes & Competitions

Master of Arts in Piano Performance – Belgium
Eager to meet the renowned professor and pianist Alan Weiss, I joined the Erasmus program in Leuven, Belgium. After this amazing experience, I decided to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Piano Performance under Professor Weiss’s mentorship and graduated with distinction, cum laude.
With Professor Weiss, I was guided and encouraged to follow my nature as a musician, and I felt deeply supported in my journey to continuously discover my own understanding and personal connection when playing a piece of music. In addition, I had the opportunity to explore a wide range of chamber music repertoire in ensembles such as piano duo, and with clarinet, flute, voice, and violin, in the classes of Professors Makiko Sakai, Paul Beelaerts, Philip Benoit, and Marc Tooten.
Bachelors-Music Science & Arts – Greece
In 2007, I joined the Music Science and Arts Department of the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, Greece, where I had the opportunity to study with Professors P. Vouvari, K. P. Kalakwna, and Charalambos Angelopoulos. During my time there, I not only developed my classical piano performance and pedagogical skills as a teacher, but I was also inspired by many interesting people and influences at the university. These encounters led me to explore and discover my interest in jazz music, experiment with jazz improvisation, and create small piano compositions.
My curiosity also led me to participate in the international competition Jugend Musiziert with a flute ensemble, where we were awarded 1st Prize in Greece and 1st Prize in Alexandria, Egypt. This international experience sparked my interest and commitment to pursuing further studies abroad.
First contact with the Music World
I was born in September 1989 in Athens, Greece. At the age of seven, I began learning the piano at the Arianeio Conservatory in Athens with R. Georgiou. Shortly afterward, my family and I moved to Thessaloniki. It was during that time that I discovered my special connection to classical music and began my personal journey toward becoming a classical pianist.
In terms of piano studies, I continued at the Conservatory of Northern Greece in Thessaloniki, in the class of the Russian teacher E. Guseinova. At the age of 11, in 2001, I had my first competition experience at the Hellenic piano competition Filonas in Athens, where I was awarded a distinction. In 2002, I entered the piano class at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki, first studying with L. Vassileiadou and later with E. Zacharopoulou. During this time, I also studied chamber music with M. Liakopoulou.
